Aloha Friday
Welcome to Aloha Friday! In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link here. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!
My Question: Are you a stay-at-home mom or a work-outside-of-home mom? Do you like it?
I've been a stay at home mom for 7 yrs. and I would say it has it's ups and downs! It's not easy, as many people think, yes, it's rewarding..and I will not change it, I'm also thankful that I can be a sahm.

I'm a SAHM and like you said, it have ups and downs but at the end I love it.
Stay at home mom/Grandma
I am SAHM but I do "work" part tie through my blog. It can be very challenging but I would never give up being with my girls.
I'm a SAHM. Well it's not an easy ride and I realize that I have to find times to really enjoy my kids because it seems I spend time just shouting at them to stop this or that, or apologize or time out etc.
I don't ever get a break or help so it's harder than it should be.
It's also rewarding. I've taught my son and daughter alot. At five he is reading and way ahead of kindergarten level and haven't yet been in kindergarten, so it's good.
well, long story short...
i had my son while my husband was dealing with deployment...
luckily my parents let me move in with them during that time...
now that he is back, we are TRYING to let me stay at home and just him work...
cross your fingers that it works out for us!
When my youngest was born three years ago we did the math and it was not worth me teaching at the time. By the time taxes were taken out and childcare taken care of for the two boys, I barely took anything home. It has been tough being home at times, but I would not trade the time and things I have been able to do with my kids.
I am a SAHM, and it has it's days. And some days I both love and hate it! Most under paid job in the world but one I wouldn't trade for the world... ok maybe I would. The world has a lot of stuff in it, lol!!
Happy Aloha Friday

Good question! SAHM...with a little bit of WAHM. I do like it, now...but I DID NOT like being a stay at home mom when I first started. We moved right before my second child was born, and quitting work was a necessity, not a choice. I loved my job, and I loved not being judged by my "homemaking" (I am a messy person...but people excuse you for that if you're working). I HATED staying at home at first...felt so isolated, frustrated, depressed. People would say "How great that you get to stay home now" and I would GRIT MY TEETH and try to fake a smile. Before my husband stayed home while I worked--he enjoyed it but everyone gave him a guilt trip about it and treated me like a martyr. I was no martry, and he was (IS) a good dad.
PS: Thank you everyone who answered this...it's encouraging hearing you share and I appreciate people's honesty!
I was a stay at home mom till my youngest started school. Going back to work has been the hardest thing for me. I have a good job, not much money but not difficult for me, but summers are my worst. I just really want to be home with my kids and my youngest is now 13.
When my girls were younger, I was a SAHM. As they grew older, I started working part time.
I don't have kids, but if I could afford to I'd like to be a manly sahm!
Right now, I am a SAHM for the first time in my life but I will be returning to work very soon. Happy Aloha Friday and 4th of July weekend!
