Drop Dead Diva Screening Season Premiere

Drop Dead Diva Season Premiere Screening

As I mentioned before in the other post that I was attending the screening of Drop Dead Diva's Season Premiere! Here's my review, but first a small introduction to Drop Dead Diva in case you're not familiar with this great show.

The one-hour, comedic drama tells the story of a shallow wannabe model who dies in a sudden accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-size and recently deceased attorney, Jane.
In the first season of “Drop Dead Diva,” beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb (Brooke D’Orsay) suddenly finds herself in front of heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred (Ben Feldman), following a fatal car crash. Outraged by her sudden demise, she attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott). An intelligent, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant, Teri (Margaret Cho), Jane has always lived in the shadow of her colleagues, whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty. By a twist of fate and a bolt of divine intervention, Deb must come to terms with inhabiting Jane’s curvier frame and learn to reconcile her beauty-queen ways with her brilliant new mind.

At the close of last season, Deb was ready to let go of her past and embrace her new life as Jane. But the unexpected arrival of Jane’s “secret” husband, Ethan (Devon Gummersall), at her doorstep left her with more questions than ever. To make matters worse, Jane may be disbarred after breaching client-attorney confidentiality when, against the firm’s advisement, she reported her client for fraud. Faced with a new love triangle and the uncertainty of her career, Jane must, once again, chart out a new future for herself. Season 2 Premieres June 6 at 9pm on Lifetime.

I arrived early, I got good seats, and I mean very good seats, half of the theatre was reserved, so the seats beside me were reserved, and guess who came and sat by me? The entire cast!
Right beside me was Brooke Elliott (Jane Bingum) She is so pretty! sitting next was Jackson Hurst (Grayson Kent) I can't remember who was next but the cast were:
Ben Feldman (Fred), April Bowlby (Stacy Barrett), Kate Levering (Kim Kaswell), Josh Stamberg (Parker)
I watched the season 2 premiere, and I have to say it was great! Judge Paula Abdul guest stars! I liked the season premiere, and cannot wait to watch this season.
Something amazing to me, was watching this show and looking to my right and seeing the cast! After the premiere ended the cast was interviewed by any one who wanted to ask a question.

They are really nice, down to earth people, happy to be doing this great show on Lifetime.
They said they are all great friends off-screen, and they hope Drop Dead Diva continues for many more seasons.
After the interviews, the cast was taken to the back, we were able to meet them and take pictures with them!

God's Promises for Girls

By Jack Countryman and Amy Parker

I had the opportunity to review this great book from Book Sneeze, it's an adorable little book, God's Promises for Girls. It is nicely illustrated with adorable pictures, it consists with verses for different issues that girls deal with.
In my opinion, this book is for girls ages 5 and up, I read it with my 6 yr. old daughter, she liked the book, but there were some things she didn't quite understand yet.
I have enjoyed this book, I think it's a great addition to any little girl's library.

This book has an easy way to help young girls see God's Promises, and on how they can rely on His love everyday. The promise verses in this book are selected from the best-selling International Children's Bible, to offer comfort and encouragement when a girl is feeling afraid, lonely, worried, tired, angry, dissatisfied, sad, rebellious, impatient, or sick...and when they need reassurance from God's protection, love, help...and that He listens when they pray. It's a great way to keep God's Word in their hearts.

Sleep Apnea?

Do any of you have sleep apnea?

I had a sleep study done last week, because I'm having trouble sleeping, and I'm waking up a lot, I'm feeling tired all the time..so I went to the doctor yesterday for the results, and he said I have mild sleep apnea.

He said that there are two options, cpap machine, or Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) surgery which is a procedure that removes excess tissue in the throat to make the airway wider. As in removing parts of the soft palate, removal of tonsils and removal of the uvula (The soft fingerlike tissue that hangs down from the back of the roof of the mouth into the throat)
He also said "I will warn you, this is a very painful procedure and recovery"
So, I think I'm gonna try the cpap machine for now and see how that goes.. that surgery just scares me!
The doctor did say that if I had this surgery done, it would get rid of the sleep apena, I've done some searching and I've read horrors!

Cool Disney World Secrets

Here’s our list of Cool Disney World Secrets.

Recently I spent some time reading and searching the Internet for interesting facts and secrets to explore during our next trip to Disney World this Christmas season. Here are some of the best ones I have found. Please add any that you think I might have missed in the comment area. Often at Disney World we are rushed and burdened with schedules and dining plans but, we miss the subtle things that the Imagineers put in for guests to enjoy. Take the time to take it in.

-In the shop Tinkerbell’s Treasures in the Magic Kingdom (behind the castle) there is a little dresser up against the wall with a keyhole in one of the drawers. If you put your eye up to the keyhole you can see a little light and hear a bell as if Tinkerbell was stuck in the drawer
If you are the first to visit this in the morning, you get to be the one to wake her up.

-In Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland there are talking garbage cans along the left wall in the main area. (Look for the electrical cords leading to them)(first you have to put something in them.)

-Go into Muppet Vision 3D, at the entrance turnstiles on the right is a ticket window with a notice that says – “Closed – Key under Mat”. I have read that you should look under the mat and see if the key is really there.

-Just by the Indiana Jones show, there are some crates hidden in the bushes, which are marked ‘don’t open’ – go ahead & open them!
-Again, Near Indiana Jones is a well with a rope in it, pull the rope for a surprise

-If you pick up the telephones in the stores along Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, you can hear funny conversations.

-In the shop next to Pizza Planet in DHS you’ll see several large wooden packing crates. Try lifting the lids of a few of them.

-I have heard there is a hidden paintbrush on Tom Sawyer’s Island in the MK and if you find it first you get a prize.

-Outside of Tony’s restaurant in the MK, if you sit on Goofy, he laughs.
-At the Haunted Mansion, there is a tombstone outside on the far right of the cemetery of a woman and every couple of minutes, she opens her eyes and looks around.
- There is a hedge maze in the back of the UK in Epcot
-There is a new dream suite that you can win a night in Cinderella’s castle. When the park was being built this space was supposed to be a apartment for Walt and his family to live in but since he passed away before the park opened they used it for storage, until now.

-The best way to win “dreams” such as the ultimate fastpass for the day, mickey ears or that night in Cinderella’s castle is to get to the parks early in the morning. That is usually when they’re handed out.

-There is a pay phone in tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom and if you pick it up you can hear Sunny Eclipses manager on the other end who also happens to be the fake alien singer in the restaurant Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland.

- In Disney-MGM Studios, there is a “Singing in the Rain” umbrella attached to a lamp post. It is a great photo opportunity and a pressure pad under the umbrella usually (unless malfunctioning) will release “rain”. The lamp post is in the Streets of America area across from Lights, Motors, Action!

- As you exit Star Tours (outside of the gift shop) in Disney-MGM Studios, you’ll see a “Speeder Bike” in front of an Endor background. People often assume that it is only for display but you are welcome to sit on it – this makes a great picture. Other wonderful photo opportunities in Disney-MGM Studios are the car outside Sci-Fi Dine In and all over the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area.

- In Animal Kingdom, there is a bridge near Kali River Rapids. There are buttons that cause the elephant statues to spray water on the riders in the rafts below.

- The Animal Kingdom Times Guide does a terrible job of highlighting all the wonderful live entertainment available at this park. One of our favorites are “DiVine” on the trail between Asia and Africa. She looks like a vine and literally blends in with the landscaping when she isn’t moving. Two other excellent groups are the Karuka Acrobats and the Tam Tam’s of Congo which both perform in the Harambe area of the “Africa” area.

- Did you know that closing time at the Magic Kingdom just means you must be on your last ride or in line for the ride by that time? The shops along Main Street generally stay open for about an hour after closing time. There’s no good reason to rush to the lines forming for transportation so take your time and enjoy a few last views of the castle when it is lit up after dark. Stop and notice the window displays in the Emporium (right side of the street as you face the train station, near City Hall). Each window display is a shadow-box or diorama that depicts a different Disney animated movie and most have some form of movement. Most people walk right by and never notice these fascinating displays.
